Artist's Description
Our 43rd set of Plein Air Paintings were painted at Alafia River State Park. The park has a reputation for some beatiful trails for mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking. The area's natural topography was altered in years past when it was mined for phosphate leaving some interesting and beautiful landscapes and water retention areas. The weather was a little on the windy side. Tropical Storm Isaac was brewing in the Caribbean on the day we visited Alafia but the sun shined the whole time and the site we chose was perfect for a plein air painting!
