This is the fourteenth plein air painting in the series. This was done on location in Beverly Hills, Florida. The lake in the painting is a lake I would walk to with my brothers when we were children and visiting my grandparents during the summer. Back then there was nothing in the area except for the lake, the trees, and the surrounding "natural" environment. It was, in fact, much as this painting would lead you to believe it still is. The truth, though, is that now there are homes, and churches, and roads, and a community clubhouse, and, well, just a whole lot of civilization. It's still pretty. Just not exactly the same as all those years ago. This specific vantage point still looks very unchanged from my childhood. Robin MacBlane also painted her fourteenth plein air painting at this location. It was a good day. Hu, my dog, came along. This was done on Saturday, August 27, 2011.
