I don’t know how many Cedar Key Sunsets I’ve seen. I’ve seen a lot of them. But unlike those who sought sunsets for some special romantic moment, I saw those sunsets because I was a Dad, an Uncle, and a friend taking kids fishing.
I knew nothing about fishing. The kids were the experts.
My job was to drive, to buy chicken for the kids, buy shrimp for the fish, and to hold the flashlight.
Oh, and to take photos.
This painting was made from one of those photos. That silhouette is my son when he was 9 years old.
I wish you could’ve been there. I wish I could go back.
