Description
For our 27th Plein Air Paintings Robin MacBlane and I returned to a site we had gone to before and it is in our own back yard. It is the Silver River State Park. The last time we went there to create a set of plein air paintings we painted on one of the trails. This time we chose to use the old "Cracker Village" for our setting. This is an old wooden house in the village. We, as always, brought along my dog, Hu. We were prepared for ticks this time but, in spite of spraying with insect repellent before hand, we still found some on Hu. (So far I haven't found any on myself yet!) Robin's painting came out beautifully, of course and this time our friend, Doug Smith, also came along. He had been doing paint by numbers but this time he decided to try the plein air approach and his came out fabulous. We were at this location on Sunday, April 15, 2012.
