Description
The people who know me have heard all my stories. I tell them over and over again. Everyone is so polite. They just listen, and smile.
I’ve heard that retelling stories is part of getting old. I guess that makes me normal.
See that man and his son at the water’s edge? That’s not me. But it sure feels like me. A long time ago.
I’m sure you’ve heard me tell that story before. There’s no drama to my story. And, it certainly would make a boring movie. But I watch that movie in my mind over and over again.
I’ll tell you this. The story that unfolded as I lived my life has been much richer than if I had lived the dreams I thought I wanted.
Now and then I’m asked if I believe in God. I have to. He certainly has believed in me.
The scene in this painting is at High Falls State Park in Jackson, Georgia. Thank you, Jim Peronto, for introducing me to this park. Thank you, Robin and Bev, for plein air painting with me down by the river.
This is a digital painting. I used a combination of dry brush and turpentine brush on Procreate with an Apple Pencil as my stylus.
