This is an oil painting of Lake Alice on the campus of the University of Florida in Gainesville. This is my ninth "plein air" painting since beginning this project with Robin MacBlane (she also painted her ninth plein air painting today at Lake Alice). I couldn't believe when we discovered this spot. It was so very serene and was d...irectly beside a beautiful chapel. A wedding was preparing to take place in the chapel and so we had a lot of activity around us as we painted today. My dog, Hu, came along. Also with us today, for the first time, was our friend, Doug Smith. Doug also painted although his is more of a fantasy painting. I will be posting his painting, which he titled, "Peaceful," on his Facebook wall.See more
