Okefenokee metal print by Larry Whitler. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. For our 18th Plein Air Painting, Robin MacBlane and I went looking for a place near Lake City, Florida, that (according to Google Maps) has Florida's tallest natural waterfall. It looked to be maybe four feet tall in the photograph. We drove to the location and I'm not sure if we found the area or not because when we got to a park that I THINK was the location there was a big sign that said "NO ...DOGS." So, we drove to find another place to paint. I ended up heading north on 441 and before long we saw the sign that said, "Welcome! We're Glad Georgia's On Your Mind." We ended up painting in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. It cost five dollars to enter. I asked the man who took the money if there was a pretty spot where we could paint a picture and he replied, "I don't think I'm the person to ask."
