Description
This is the Plein Air Painting from the 38th set of plein air paintings that I have done with my partner, Robin MacBlane. This one is of Troy Spring State Park. Troy Spring is a natural freshwater spring that feeds the Suwannee River. On the day we visited the water levels were very high because of a recent storm (Tropical Storm Debby). The high levels flooded the swimming dock and so the area was not open for swimmers. We were at this location on Saturday, July 21, 2012. Our friend, Doug Smith, came along. My dog, Hu, also was with us. It was a rather hot day and there were a lot of mosquitos to deal with. We started a fire in the barbecue grill to create smoke as a way to chase off the mosquitos. It seemed to work. Rain caused us to leave the park before the paintings were completed and we finished them on Sunday, July 22nd, at my home.
