This is the tenth plein air painting since beginning the series of plein airs with my partner Robin MacBlane. This one was painted on location on Hontoon Island. I had never heard of Hontoon Island before today. I discovered it on the internet and read that the only access to the island was by boat. The island is a State Park and the park service provides a ferry (it is actually a pontoon boat). I also noted in the description that they allowed dogs and so I chose Hontoon Island for this "plein air" day. Our friend, Doug, also came along. He also painted (this was his second).
