Description
If you’ve lived in Ocala, Florida, long enough, you know of the fond relationship we have with the Can-Can Girls. It goes back to an old theme park called Six Gun Territory that is no longer in existence. The park was a tourist attraction and had a cowboy or western theme. "Western," as in movies and TV shows like Bonanza, Rawhide, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, etc.
One of the entertainment features was in a Saloon with a honky-tonk piano player and a cast of young women recreating the dances of the Can-Can Girls.
Six Gun Territory might be gone, but the spirit of those Can-Can Girls lives on. They appear at almost every local event and function in the area. They have become, in a way, the unofficial spokespersons of this small town.
Kinda unique. Kinda special. Don’t you think? If you are not familiar, ask Robin. While not a Can-Can Girl herself, she worked at Six Gun.
I am titling this, simply, “The Can-Can Girl.” I painted this digitally using the Procreate app with the dry brush.
