If you have ever gone tubing down the gently meandering Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida, you have undoubtedly slipped into a meditative state induced by some soothing magic that remains a mystery even to those who have been refreshed by her waters all of their lives. That meditative state is familiar to the locals and a surprise to visitors who may have been reluctant to go tubing for fear of the unknown (or the alligators). And it is that meditative state that I have attempted to express in this painting.
