Description
The pond near my grandparents’ house was about a half mile away. The road to the pond was mostly sand and so my footsteps made hardly a sound. But the ducks could hear me coming. Somehow. Either they heard me or they could smell the breadcrumbs. My grandmother hated wasting food and she equally hated serving stale bread. So it was my job to feed the crumbs to the ducks. And I fed them every morning for the entire two weeks I spent with my grandparents each summer. And you know what? Those ducks remembered me every year. That’s why it was essential that I took that walk to the duck pond each morning at the quack of dawn. I painted this on Procreate using the dry brush.
