The internal clocks and the internal calendars of nature are astounding. Not only do the birds and the other animals know that it is time to migrate they also know how to get where they need to go. It is truly incredible. To see a flock of birds making their way back north in the Springtime speaks to my inner being in so many ways. First, it is simply beautiful to behold. Such a peaceful and calming sight to see. Then, when given thought, it is a wonder to contemplate. How? So many "hows." How do they know where to go? How do they know WHEN to go? How do they choose their leader or the order they fly in? How do they know where the food will and the water will be? God is all around us. Even those fragile and mysterious birds in the sky remind us that there is something bigger than us that is in control of our universe.
